Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime movie is now showing in PH theaters!

On schedule, the hit anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 arrived today in Philippine cinemas.

The first movie in the "Jujutsu Kaisen" franchise

The much-awaited movie had its debut in Japan last December 2021. According to the teaser ad of SM Cinema, this one is the highest-grossing film in Japan. It even surpassed The Last Samurai and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time.

The film was also rolled out in the United States last March 18 and it earned almost USD 30M by the second week of its launch.

The story of the main series revolves around Itadori Yuuji, who ventures on a journey to slay a strong curse named Ryomen Sukuna.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on the prequel of the manga by Gege Akutami called Volume 0. It centers around Yuta Okkotsu who is haunted by the spirit of his childhood friend Rika. 

However, her spirit no longer appears as the sweet girl he recalled. Rather, her spirit has been cursed and she manifests as a hideous entity who defends him against his will

This results in Yuta discovering his cursed energy and enrolling in Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School. In this school, he became friends with Maki Zen'in, Toge Inumaki, and Panda, the students one year above Yuji Itadori.

The film was directed by Sunghoo Park and written by Hiroshi Seki. It stars Megumi Ogata, Kana Hanazawa, Mikako Komatsu, Kōki Uchiyama, Tomokazu Seki, Yuichi Nakamura, and Takahiro Sakurai.

The movie is currently shown in theaters in SM Cinemas and Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide
