realme releases GT2 Explorer Master w/ SD8+G1 chip, X7 display chip, and LPDDR5X RAM!

realme on schedule today launched the GT2 Explorer Master. It's a flagship-grade Android smartphone in collaboration with fashion designer Jae-Jung.

A new flagship wonder?

The device features a Travel Trunk design with a metallic frame and a vegan leather back. It is also available in Iceland White and Black colors. By the way, the frame also acts as an antenna for stronger 5G connectivity.

Back and front design

In front, the handset is using a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen w/ 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, FHD+ 2412 x 1080 resolution, In-Display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera. This also has the X7 display chip to optimize the performance of the screen and power consumption.

Cool design

Inside, it is a beast. The device is boasting a 4nm 3.2GHz Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with a new-generation Adreno GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM (the first to use this), up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery capacity with super-fast USB-C 100W fast charging.

According to realme, 2x battery longevity thanks to GaN materials in the cell (1,600 full cycles before the battery hits 80 percent life) and you will only need 25 minutes to fully charge it from 0 to 100 percent.

To keep the performance in check, it also has 2x vapor chambers for cooling.

For cameras, it uses the ever-reliable 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS at f/1.88 aperture. it also has a 50MP f/2.2 150-degree ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro sensor.

It also has pressure-sensitive shoulder keys, WiFi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, 360-degree NFC, dual-band GPS, and the Android-based realme UI 3.0 skin with realme GT Mode 3.0 to enhance the performance of the device.

The device is now available for pre-orders in China. Shipping will begin on July 19.

Sadly, the device is only exclusive in China. But, it is nice to see that realme can do phones like this one.
