Starting now, Pinoys can sell products and items on the mobile apps online so it provides a new avenue for local businesses to reach out to their customers. According to the company, it strives to open up more business opportunities not only for big brands but also for SMEs.

In addition to this, merchants will be able to enjoy zero commission fees on the platform for selected products while payment service fees are capped at one percent to payment service partners.

At the same time, users and content creators will now have a new shopping experience. Basically, TikTok Shop products can be ordered through product anchors embedded in short videos, live streams, and the TikTok Product Showcase tab of a merchant's page.

The TikTok Shop PH allegedly offers affordable and unique products that are available locally or even those that are hard to find. It also got a wide range of categories including fashion, home and living, beauty, and personal care. Some of the participating in this marketplace are realme, Unilove, Perysmith, and KILY.PH.

TikTok Shop had its maiden mid-year sale in the country with super deals, discounted shipping fee, and 70 percent price cuts. For first-time buyers, they received coupons and discounts. There were celebrities and famous content creators who participated in TikTok's first sale event such as Glaiza De Castro, TV host Macoy Dubs, and top creator Alfea.

Apparently, the 33 percent growth in the daily gross merchandise value of TikTok Shop Philippines was mainly driven by the sales campaign.  In addition to this, the platform's number of daily orders went up by 29 percent, while the volume of live streams surged by 36 percent compared to the previous week.

The company reported that top products sold during the mid-year sale were air fryers, high-waist skinny jeans for women, water bottles, and color tint makeup. Meanwhile, the top-selling brands were Gaabor, KILY.PH and Uni-Love. Content creators who got the highest views were HaroldBalilo, Kntxyrl, Nina Cabrera, and actress Glaiza De Castro.
