Samsung Electronics has unveiled its massive 55-inch 4K 165Hz 1ms Mini-LED curved gaming monitor. The price starts at USD 3,499.

A new gaming monitor form factor?
Originally teased at CES 2022, the new 55-inch Odyssey Ark 4K gaming monitor from Samsung has been officially unveiled. It is the first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen on the market.
At the core of the monitor is the 55-inch 1000R Curved Quantum Mini LED display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution. It has a 1ms (GTG) response time and a max 165Hz refresh rate. It supports FreeSync Premium Pro, Samsung Gaming Hub and Quantum HDR 2000. The panel is calibrated at the factory too.
Built-in features like Auto Source Switch+, Flicker Free, Adaptive Picture, and Off timer are available out of the box.

It connects to other devices thru two USB ports, HDMI 2.1, HDMI-CEC and RJ45 (1EA)/Ethernet port. The included Height Adjustable Stand stand supports tilt, pivot (cockpit mode) and height adjustments. It supports several wall mounting standards like 200 x 200, 300x300, and 400x400.
It comes with four corner speakers and two central woofers that produce a 60W 2.2.2 channel audio system.
Samsung says that the massive 1000R curve with the large 55-inch size can 'overwhelm' the user's senses that can produce an adrenaline-fueled experience. It has a Cockpit Mode where users can use the Height Adjustable Stand to tilt and turn the screen.
Powering the display is Samsung's Quantum Matrix Technology which controls the densely packed LEDs. It features 14-bit processing and 'sophisticated' lighting management technology that work together to offer 16,384 black levels.
Lastly, it is running on TizenOS and it measures 46.3 x 43.4 x 15 inches and weighs 91.5lbs with the stand.

The new monitor is now available for pre-order thru the Samsung e-store in the United States. There is no word yet on international or Philippine pricing and availability.
