Large contracts with local government agencies and various division offices of the Department of Education refueled the education segment, which saw growth of 92 percent YoY and 89.2 percent QoQ, respectively, with more than 60 percent of this segment being accounted for by the local brand Cherry Mobile.

In terms of ranking, Cherry Mobile garnered 30.9 percent unit market share for Q2 2022. It is followed by Samsung with 17.8 percent, Lenovo with 15.7 percent, realme with 11.7 percent, HUAWEI with 11.2 percent, and other brands combine for 12.8 percent unit market share.

The Cherry Mobile Flare Tab Ultra is the hero device for the brand in terms of tablets. It is a tablet priced at PHP 8,990 with a 10.1-inch FHD+ IPS screen, 1.6GHz SC9863 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and a 6,000mAh battery.

Back in 2020, the PH tablet market was dominated by commercial purchases. But for 2021 and 2022, the PH tablet market saw more consumer-based purchases showing more positive growth in this segment over the years. The commercial market also showed a decline from 2020 to 2022.
