Build/Design - The Nothing Phone (1) features a premium and unique design with a transparent back cover with eye-catching illuminating light strips.

Of course, there's the Glyph interface with 5 lighting strips that lights up when the device receives a notification, can synchronize lights with the phone's ringtones, and can show the charging progress of the device.

It is made out of recycled aluminum for the frame and has IP53 water and dust resistance. It also has a dual-camera setup at the back arranged vertically in an elliptical cutout.

The vivo V25 Pro features a Fluorite AG glass back with a rectangular camera bump housing the triple-camera setup. It also has thin bezels in front as well and a punch-hole cutout as well.

In this regard, Nothing Phone (1) could have an advantage thanks to novel design strategy thanks to the Glyph Interface. It also boasts an IP53 water and dust resistance.

However, the vivo V25 is said to be resistant to drops, scratches, and sweat too.

Display - The Nothing Phone (1) features a 6.55-inch Gorilla Glass 5 protected 10-bit OLED screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, FHD+ 2404 x 1080 resolution at 409 ppi pixel density.

The vivo V25 Pro has a 6.56-inch 3D curved AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, FHD+ 2376 x 1080 resolution at 398 ppi pixel density.

The Nothing Phone (1) has a better 10-bit OLED panel. But, vivo V25 Pro is on par with its AMOLED screen in almost every other aspect. It even has a 300Hz touch sampling rate.

Specs - For performance, the Nothing Phone (1) features the 2.5GHz 6nm Snapdragon 778G+ 5G octa-core processor with Hexagon 770 AI chip, Adreno 642L GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, 5W reverse wireless charging.

vivo V25 Pro, on the other hand, has a 3.0GHz 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1300 octa-core processor, Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, 12GB LPDDR4X, 256GB UFS 3.1, and a 4,830mAh w/ 66W FlashCharge.

Overall, vivo V25 Pro, on paper, is slightly faster in terms of CPU and GPU. It also has a bigger 12GB RAM size at the PHP 29,999 price range while Nothing Phone (1) offers 8GB only.

It is a tie in the storage department while vivo wins in battery capacity and fast charging power. The Nothing Phone (1) has wireless and reverse wireless charging though.

CamerasNothing Phone (1) features  50MP f/1.88 Sony IMX766 with OIS, EIS + 50MP f/2.2 Samsung JN1 114-degree ultra-wide-angle w/ 4cm macro + LED flash. It also has a 16MP f/2.45 Sony IMX471 selfie camera.

The vivo V25 Pro has a triple-camera setup with 64MP f/1.89 with PDAF, OIS + 8MP f/2.25 105-degree ultra-wide-angle + 2MP f/2.4 macro + dual-tone LED flash. It also has a 32MP f/2.45 with an Eye AF selfie camera.

The vivo V25 Pro has a bigger main sensor and a bigger selfie sensor. However, it stuck with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors.

The Nothing Phone (1) only has 2 rear cameras but those are two 50MP sensors. Both devices even include OIS.

So in conclusion, in terms of the megapixel size, vivo wins. Technology and overall specs, Nothing is ahead. Besides, Nothing uses flagship-worthy camera sensors.

Our thoughts

Based on specs, Nothing Phone (1) is still a better choice at around PHP 29K.

vivo V25 Pro has its advantages, but overall, Nothing is just a better value with better cameras, a unique design, a better screen, wireless charging, and an IP rating for water and dust resistance.
