Consumers are delaying the purchase of electronic technology and placing more importance on other necessary expenditures due to the bleak economic outlook. For the next six to nine months, this will probably continue to affect the smartphone market.

With a 22 percent market share, Samsung maintained its top spot thanks to aggressive promotions to lower channel inventory. Due to relatively steady demand for iPhones, Apple was the only other vendor in the top five to report positive growth, significantly strengthening its market position with an 18 percent share during the market downturn. While maintaining 14 percent, 10 percent, and 9 percent of the worldwide market share, respectively, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo continued to be cautious in their international expansion due to the uncertainties in their home markets.

Samsung grew 1 percent YoY, Apple grew 3 percent YoY, Xiaomi retained 14 percent YoY, OPPO declined 1 percent YoY, vivo dropped 2 percent YoY, and the rest of the vendors lost 1 percent altogether.
