In addition to giving Smart the "Best in Test" award, umlaut noted that it also had the best upload, download, and latency ratings. This is evidence of Smart's ongoing efforts to improve its network and offer better mobile services.

Smart received an overall score of 801 out of a possible 1,000 points, according to umlaut. According to the survey, which used 985 million samples gathered between May and October 2022, Smart is performing better than other mobile carriers in terms of wireless voice, internet browsing, mobile video and gaming, and OTT messaging.

Voice metrics, such as call setup times and call quality, data metrics, such as upload and download speeds, web browsing, consistently good and reliable throughput across the Philippines, and crowdsourced elements to assess coverage quality and session reliability, all contribute to Smart's score achievements.

Smart had installed 77,200 base stations as of the end of September 2022, including 7,300 5G base stations and nearly 40,000 4G/LTE base stations. 97 percent of the population is covered by Smart's 3G, LTE, and 5G networks.

The largest fiber network in the nation, PLDT's, serves as the foundation for Smart's mobile network. By the end of September, PLDT had increased the overall length of its fiber network to almost 1,091,000 kilometers, which included more than 231,000 kilometers of international and nearly 860,000 kilometers of domestic fiber.
