The so-called "mystery parcels"

Are these even legal?

Our guess, some of them might be already labeled as a "mystery parcel" that is being sold online.

Based on our quick Facebook Marketplace search after seeing a post on r/Philippines Reddit, several online "suppliers" are looking for "business people" that could sell mystery parcels.

One of the posts reads,

This simply means that those who will be selling and buying those items will be surprised to see what's inside.

It added,

Basta malakas loob mo sa gantong negsyo swak sayo to.

However, is it even legal to sell these items? Our speculation is no. There is a chance that these "mystery parcels" are stolen parcels.

Another post stated that these are items from international shippers that are "unclaimed, returned, or canceled" parcels and they are selling them to local sellers

Our speculation is no. There is a chance that these "mystery parcels" are stolen parcels.

Personally, I ordered a few items online last December that never arrived in my place despite being tagged as already in "transit".

Missing parcels are troublesome for the buyer, courier, and seller. Thankfully, some e-commerce sites like Lazada could refund the items you purchased if it fails to reach the seller.

Hopefully, Facebook, the online stores, and the authorities will investigate this. Let's learn not to trust every "trending" online business immediately as well. Check if it is even legal first.

What do you guys think?
