In a recent blog, Microsoft shared plenty of new updates for the Windows 11 operating system. One of them is the native support for RAR files.

No need to download WinRAR soon!

This simply means that Windows 11 users can now unarchive RAR files or archive their files to RAR even without downloading the WinRAR file archiver utility or other apps that do similar functions.

To recall, the WinRAR app urges you to buy a license, but it has an indefinite FREE trial. Technically, it is FREE for those who won't pay for it. But, this new move will still save you time.

We have added native support for additional archive formats, including tar, 7-zip, rar, gz and many others using the libarchive open-source project. You now can get improved performance of archive functionality during compression on Windows.

Apart from RAR, Windows will also have support for 7-zip, gz, and many more using the libarchive open-source project.

Personally, I'm looking forward to this update.

What do you guys think?
