Ready your wallets: HUAWEI P60 Pro and Mate X3 to launch in the Philippines on May 12!

Technology giant HUAWEI has finally confirmed the official launch dates for the P60 Pro high-end camera phone and the Mate X3 flagship foldable in the Philippines.

May 12 is the day!

Based on its latest social media posts, the two phones will launch in the country on May 12, 2023.

To those who missed it, the HUAWEI P60 Pro is a premium smartphone boasting a premium design Rococo Pearl (unique patterns for every user) and Black colorways and a Quad-Curve 6.67-inch LTPO OLED 120Hz screen with 2700 x 1220 resolution, an In-Display fingerprint sensor, a top-center punch-hole for the 13MP Wide Angle selfie camera.


Under the hood, 3.it is powered by the 2GHz 4nmnm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor, and 4,815mAh battery capacity with 88W SuperCharge (10 mins, 50 percent charge), 50W Wireless SuperCharge.

Both back and front design comes with Kunlun Glass, a glass protection that is 10x tougher than regular glass. It also has IP68 of water and dust resistance.

The main highlightof the device are its cameras. It arrived with an RYYB 48MP Ultra-Lighting Camera with variable (adjustable) f/1.4~f/4.0 physical aperture, Phase Focus, Contrast Focus, and OIS. This is paired with an RYYB 13MP f/2.2 Ultra-Wide Angle Camera and an RYYB 48MP f/2.1 Ultra Lighting Telephoto Camera w/ 3.5x optical zoom, up to 100x digital zoom, and OIS.

This is powered by HUAWEI XMAGE, XD Optics, and XD Fusion Pro texture engine to produce highly impressive images for a phone.

The device also has WiFi 6, 4G LTE (4G+) and stereo speakers.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI Mate X3 is currently the world's thinnest foldable smartphone at just 5.3mm when unfolded and 11.08 mm when folded while weighing just 239 grams for the Leather version and 241 grams for the Collectors Edition made with glass.

The device also has IPX8 water resistance, carbon fiber material, a new-gen multi-dimensional hinge design, and an ultra-slim Type-C component.

HUAWEI said that this device has 4x more impact resistant and the first to pass Switzerland's five-star SGS impact-resistance certification.

It uses a large 7.85-inch foldable inner OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2496 x 2224 resolution as well as a 6.4-inch Kunlun Glass-protected LTPO OLED screen with 2504 x 1080 resolution. Both screens have the same 426 ppi and is called the "HUAWEI X-TRUE" tech and is the first foldable smartphone to garner two TÜV Rheinland certifications (Color Accuracy & Precise Color Projection)⁠.


For specs, it is still fast even if it isn't using the latest SD8G2 SoC. Under the hood, you will find the 3.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G octa-core processor with New Adreno GPU, 12GB RAM, 512GB internal storage, and a 4,800mAh battery capacity with USB-C 66W SuperCharge and a 50W Wireless SuperCharge.

The device also goes with XMAGE imaging tech featuring the 50MP f/1.8 Ultra Vision Camera with Phase and Contrast focus + 13MP f/2.2 Ultra-Wide Angle with 2.5cm macro + 12MP f/3.4 5x Periscope Telephoto Camera with OIS + LED flash. For selfies, it has an 8MP f/2.4 camera for both the inner and outer screens. This is a powerful camera configuration despite its slim size.

It also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader and stereo speakers.

Both runs on HUAWEI's EMUI 13.1 skin with plenty of HarmonyOS features.

Now, let's wait for the official announcement of HUAWEI for their price tags.
