The promise? Up to 5 years of updates!

In particular, the South Korean tech firm revealed that the above-mentioned devices will receive up to 4 years of major Android OS updates and 5 years of security updates.

This simply means that those who purchased the Galaxy A34 5G (PHP 19,990 starting price) and Galaxy A54 5G (PHP 24,990 starting price) might be updated to Android 17 with the most updated version of One UI (If it will still be called One UI 4 years from now) and it will get patches and fixes to keep your phone secured.

This type of service is rare, especially on mid-range phones. Most of the time, only high-end devices will receive such updates for a long time.

Samsung said,

Our mobile phones have become an essential part of our lives - from sharing our hobbies, to checking social media, to helping us work on the go - our phones have become hosts to precious memories, creative content and even sensitive data like financial transactions and work documents. This is why it's more crucial than ever to find a mobile device that's secure and will last through the years so we can protect ourselves from risks that lurk online.

Samsung also noted that these measures are in place to keep your device "stable and secure" through the years for a "worry-free" ownership experience.

The devices also offer
Privacy Protection features that are designed to protect your data from risks like improper use and permanent loss. It has the Secure Folder, where you may save private photos and information in a safe place that only you can access and the Private Share function allows users to distribute files exclusively to authorized recipients under time limits and with screenshots disabled.

Samsung is also boasting the Smart Call feature which detects spam and fraudulent calls before you answer them, Device protection to regularly scan your phone for viruses and malware, and Maintenance Mode to disable personal photographs, messages, and data while the phone is being serviced.

But, only time will tell if Samsung will stay true to its word. We are hoping for the best. Let's see.

Anyway, both devices are also available with Home Credit's flexible payment options and 0 percent Credit Card installment plans. There is also a trade-in option which can save up to PHP 10,150.

The company also noted that these phones are compatible with bundle discounts for other Samsung devices.

For example, you can get 50 percent off on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Buds2, 30 percent off on the Galaxy Watch5 Series, and receive a FREE Travel Adapter.
