PUP still tops employers' choice survey

Leading online job portal JobStreet by SEEK revealed the top schools preferred by companies in the country, with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) still leading the list.

Which schools are employers' top choice?

According to JobStreet by SEEK, the survey was conducted last May, covering 42 sectors and 700 companies.

3. De La Salle University

4. University of Santo Tomas

5. Mapua University

6. Batangas State University

7. University of Mindanao

8. University of Cebu

9. Technological Institute of the Philippines

10. STI College

According to the survey, hirers from Information Technology, Human Resources, and Call Center/BPO industries are the top recruiters that hire talent from PUP and UP. On the other hand, DLSU graduates are frequently sought after in the Healthcare, Information Technology, and Property/Real Estate sectors.

Companies from Call Center BPO, Business Consulting, and Hospitality, among others, recruit candidates from UST, while hirers from Construction, Information Technology, and Telco are likely to hire graduates from Mapua Institute of Technology.

JobStreet by SEEK Country Manager Philip Gioca said that the survey seeks to help improve connections between job seekers and employers.

Most importantly, more than these preferences, it is crucial for candidates to recognize and hone their own unique qualities and strengths that are primary factors for determining hireability and career growth, Gioca said.
