Build/design - The HONOR Magic5 Pro features an elegant design in its Meadow Green or Black color choices. It has excellent craftsmanship and is made of solid materials such as textured glass, metal, and curved glass at the front.

They even added an IP68 rating making it resistant to water. It also appears smaller and slimmer at 8.77mm in measurement. But unfortunately, they didn't mention any glass protection here.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi comes with metal on the frames and glass on its back and comes with the same IP68 rating. You can also notice that the phone is thinner at 8.38mm and slightly heavier at 229 grams. However, this phone has Gorilla Glass Victus protection which will ensure users that it can withstand drops and scratches and shocks up to some degree.

Display - Moving to the display, HONOR uses a Quad-Curved Floating LTPO OLED screen. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate to deliver a smooth fluid experience and comes with 2848 x 1312 resolution at 460ppi. The HONOR phone has a higher PWM dimming frequency at 2160Hz and has up to 1800 nits peak brightness.

For Xiaomi, it uses an LTPO AMOLED E6 panel but slightly smaller at 6.73 inches. It also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, and lower PWM Dimming at 1920Hz but comes with a higher resolution at 3200 x 1440 and higher max brightness at 1900 nits.

Specs - When it comes to internals both feature the current Qualcomm flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with New Adreno GPU.

However, they differ in memory configuration. The HONOR phone uses 12GB and 512GB UFS 4.0 trim while Xiaomi has a similar RAM size but with lower 256GB at a similar price.

For batteries, both have 5,000mAh sizes. HONOR gets 66W wired and 50W wireless SuperCharge. Xiaomi has twice faster wired charging at 120W but equals the wireless charging capability at 50W. While it also has 10W reverse wireless charging.

Cameras - This is the main spotlight for both handsets, HONOR uses its own custom sensor of a 50MP f/1.6 Wide primary shooter with OIS, and EIS capability, paired with a 50MP f/2.0 Ultra Wide Camera plus another 50MP f/3.0 Periscope Telephoto Camera w/3.5x Optical Zoom and OIS. Making it a legit triple 50MP contender. On the selfie side, it uses 12MP f/2.4 + 3D depth helper.

For Xiaomi 13 Pro, this phone instead uses three sensors. Specifically, the 50MP f/1.9 Sony IMX 989 Dual Pixel PDAF OIS, coupled with 50MP f/2.2 115-degree ultra-wide-angle + 50MP f/2.0 3x tele-macro zoom + LED flash. For selfies, it uses a 32MP f/2.0.

As you can see both have beefy camera specs, HONOR currently sits in the top 3 at the DxOmark rankings with 152 points overall while Xiaomi 13 Pro is far behind at no. 20 only at 136 points.

Other features - The two devices look to be tied here, they both have a cooling system to keep the temperature of their processors in check. The Magic5 Pro has DTS:X Ultra-supported speakers while the Xiaomi 13 Pro has Dolby Atmos speakers. In addition, both have IR Blasters and an In-Display fingerprint reader.

On paper, both are almost tied in most aspects, HONOR Magic5 Pro takes the upper hand in the camera department and memory configuration while Xiaomi 13 Pro offers faster charging, a durable screen, and a better display.
