We share our thoughts and long-term experience with the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe one-stop charging solution for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

Originally announced in the middle of 2023 for the Philippine market, the Anker 3-in-1 is a compelling third-party all-in-one charging solution for fans of the Apple ecosystem.

Anker Packaging

The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe comes in all-white packaging with the render and branding in front. At the back are the regulatory information and key specs.

Box inclusions

Inside the box are the Cube, USB-C to USB-C cable, 30W wall charger, and documentation. The documentation indicates an 18-month warranty.

Build Quality/Design

The Cube at first glance looks like a small box. Upon closer inspection, it is clear that it is made of solid metal with some polycarbonate parts. When picking it up, you immediately notice its weight and density.

This heft or weight is there as a form of counterbalance when a large phone such as the Pro or Max models is attached to the angled tilting MagSafe charging pad.

Rear and front sides

At the back of the Cube is the LED charging indicator and the USB-C port while in front is the glossy metal hinge and the Anker branding.

On the left side is the pop-up charging pad for the Apple Watch while on the right side is a smooth surface.

When viewed from the top, we can see the tilting MagSafe charging pad and the pop-up Apple Watch charging pad.

Bottom view

At the bottom is the rubber cover with the regulatory information printed on it. The rubber cover adds friction to prevent the cube from moving and it also prevents the cube from scratching against the surface.

Top view

The included wall charger and USB-C cable maxes out at 30 watts. This means that the Cube itself can output 30 watts but will be split between the three charging pads. The MagSafe is rated for up to 15W of wireless charging while the Apple Watch and AirPods charging pads each charge at up to 5W. It also supports the Apple Watch Fast charging.

You can charge multiple Apple devices at the same time!

What we love about the tilting MagSafe charging pad is that it can be set from 0 to 60 degrees.

In our experience, those max charging speeds are almost never reached because of the humid and hot environment in the Philippines.

However, when placed directly in front of the air conditioner, we noticed faster charging speeds. The iPhone 13 Pro takes under two hours to charge with the 20W Apple Wall charger and the USB-C to lightning cable. With the Cube's MagSafe charger, it takes under 3 hours to fully charge as it slows down when the phone's temperature gets warm to a certain level. 

The 5W charging for the Apple Watch and AirPods takes under 90 minutes to charge the devices. Meanwhile, theApple Watch Magnetic Fast charging will charge compatible Apple Watches in under 85 minutes.

It is also worthwhile to take note that the iPhone and Apple watch are both warm to the touch after more than 30 minutes of charging either device. Wireless charging inherently warms up the device faster which could lead to faster battery degradation. If this tradeoff is acceptable to you then, proceed.

Verdict

The Anker 3-in-1 Cuber with MagSafe is one of the better all-in-one charging solutions for Apple ecosystem enthusiasts.

This is because of its compact and clever design, premium build materials, and compatibility with a wide range of Apple devices.

The inclusion of MagSafe allows for 15W charging for iPhones with MagSafe and fast charging for compatible Apple Watches. While the 5W charging for the Apple Watch and AirPods charges devices in under 85 minutes.

Our only concern is that some people may find the weight of the device too much. However, we recognize that the weight is needed to help prevent the charging cube from tipping over when a heavy phone like the Pro Max model is attached when tilted. 

The rubber feet also add friction to prevent the cube from being accidentally pushed or moving from its place.

This is another winner from Anker.
