Smart powers FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 in PH
In partnership with other technology leaders Huawei and Ericsson, the group said it would equip FIBA venues with Smart LTE and 5G networks. The areas included in the list are the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, and the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
Smart said it boosted download and upload speeds as well as latency at the venues, claiming that initial speed tests showed download speeds as fast as 1 Gbps on Smart 5G.
A Command Center at Smart Tower would also be established, while teams dedicated to monitoring network performance during the event would likewise be deployed.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 is today August 25, to September 10.
