X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk revealed that the blocking feature will be removed from the platform as it "makes no sense".

Goodbye block on profiles feature soon?

The block function on X found on three dots on the profile of users was established to prevent users from harassing, bullying, attacking, and defaming each other. It could be used to prevent certain individuals from stalking you as well.

Musk previously noted that he is in favor of "a stronger form of mute" instead.

While the X chief said that you will not be able to block profiles, blocking direct messages will still be possible.

However, this might make it hard for people to remove "abusive" or "harmful" posts from their timelines.

Currently, when users "block" an account, it stops that account's posts from appearing in the blocker's timeline, and vice versa.

The blocking feature is still available on the platform as of this writing.

Reports said that removing the blocking feature might violate the terms and conditions of Apple App Store and Google Play Stores though.

The said stores have conditions stating that social media apps should allow users facilitate to filter harassment or bullying.

If "X" will implement this, there is a chance that the app will be removed from those stores.

What do you guys think?
