Xiaomi Certifies MIOS Trademark!

Currently, MIUI is one of the famous Android skins and is known for various customizations, features, always-on display, and second-space functionality. However, the Android skin has been also known for bloatware and ads.

Leaker Ice Universe has posted a certification of the said MiOS as proof that Xiaomi is up to something. The trademark registration covers a vast range of products and services that include smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables.

On the other hand, another famed leaker Digital Chat Station has provided information in which they said "the brand will be developing MiOS as a potential alternative to MIUI interface".

So far Xiaomi hasn't addressed this speculation or hasn't released an official statement. However, it seems the brand is following the footsteps of HUAWEI and seems preparing to not rely on Android too much.

Previously, we also reported that HUAWEI has finally unveiled a standalone OS and has already begun a test invite for developers.

Right now there are two speculations the current MIUI might be replaced with a new MiOS. On the other hand, MiOS might potentially act as a backup in case there's a potential breakup between Google and Android.

It is still too early to assume what Xiaomi's plan with it but there should be more information revealed in the next few weeks.

Lastly, there's also speculation that MiOS could be a platform or OS for electric vehicles which can also be a good point.

What do you guys think?
