Apple iPhone 15, 15 Plus is now official: Dynamic Island, 48MP main cam, USB-C!

Alongside its new "Pro" models, Apple also introduced the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

The new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro arrived with aerospace-grade aluminum with a contour edge and color induced throughout the material. The colors available are Black, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink. The two have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance as well.

In front, the iPhone 15 uses a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen with 2556 x 1179 resolution while the iPhone 15 Plus is equipped with a 6.7-inch 2796 x 1290 screen. Both are at 460 ppi.

What's new here is the screens now have the Dynamic Island cutout similar to its Pro models. Apple claimed that they made it more interactive than ever for alerts, activities, and more.

It also has thinner bezels and up to 2,000 nits of outdoor peak brightness as well as the Ceramic Shield glass protection.

Best features of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus

Inside, it is powered by the 4nm Apple A16 Bionic chip with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, the same as the iPhone 14 Pro, and Pro Max last year.

Both models are available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models.

Apple claims that the iPhone 15 has up to 20 hours video playback while the iPhone 15 Plus has up to 26 hours. The two have up to 50 percent charge via USB-C (finally) in around 30 minutes using a 20W adapter and support up to 15W MagSafe wireless charging.

For cameras, it is packed with a 48MP f/1.6 main camera with 100 percent Focus Pixels and sensor-shift OIS. It also supports 24MP and 48MP super-high-resolution photos as well as 2x digital telephoto with 12MP f/1.6 52mm focal equivalent. The second camera is a 12MP f/2.4 120-degree ultra-wide sensor.

It also has the same ability to take Portrait shots without the need to switch to Portrait mode all the time with focus and depth control that you can edit even after taking the shots. It also has a Smart HDR to better capture both the sky and your subject.

 

For selfies, you will find the 12MP f/1.9 TrueDepth Camera.

Both the back and front camera systems support up to 4K 60fps video recording.

The US pricing of iPhone 15

The new iPhone 15 phones also arrived with stereo speakers, WiFi 6E, UWB, 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual-frequency GPS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou, NavIC), satellite with Emergency SOS + Roadside Assistance, and dual SIM support (nano-SIM and eSIM).

The phones run with the iOS 17 operating system.
