"Small monthly payment" to use X, anyone?

CBS News reported early this week that Musk mentioned the possible charging of fees during a recent conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Musk did provide more details about the possible fee but noted it would be a "small amount of money."

We're actually going to come up with a lower tier pricing ... This is a longer discussion, but in my view, this is actually the only defense against vast armies of bots, he explained.

He noted that the social media platform has 550 million monthly users that generate 100 million to 200 million posts a day. He didn't indicate whether he was factoring bots into that figure.

This development comes X faces a decline in advertising which is its major source of income.

The Guardian said in its report that Musk has said the boycott has caused ad revenue to decline by 60 percent.

Currently, the social media platform only charges users subscribed to X Premium. In the Philippines, monthly subscription for iOS and Android is PHP 600, while yearly subscription is PHP 6,300.

The meeting between the two also comes after Musk said he may sue the Anti-Defamation League for accusing X and him of antisemitism and fueling advertisers' exodus from the social network.

The ADL raised concerns over a surge in bullying and antisemitic posts on X following Musk's takeover.

What do you think about this?
