Twitter owner Elon Musk announced that the social media platform's logo is now "X".
Bye Twitter, hello X

From a bird to an "X"

On his account on Sunday, Elon Musk revealed that Twitter's iconic bird logo will be changed to an "X." He also said that all the birds will be disappearing from the social media platform.

And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds, Musk said.

Musk also started a poll, asking Twitter users to choose between a black heart and a white heart with the caption "Change default platform color to black."

He then posted an illustration of the bird logo with a black background, but noted "Like this but X."

To embody the imperfections in us all that make us unique. he replied.

In a follow-up Tweet, Musk said that x.com now leads to twitter.com. He also noted that the interim X logo will go live on Monday.

After Musk acquired Twitter for USD 44 billion in late October, he made drastic changes in the company including cutting staff and overseeing controversial policy changes which have led to frequent service disruptions and upended his own reputation in the process as tech watchers have noted, a CNN report said.

He has also repeatedly warned that Twitter could be at risk of filing for bankruptcy. He recently revealed that the platform still has a negative cash flow due to a 50 percent drop in advertising revenue and heavy debt loads.

As of writing, the logo of Twitter has been changed to "X".

What do you think about this?
