One of the many OPPO facilities we recently visited in China is its "Intelligent Imaging Lab".

A lab to improve OPPO's camera game!

Basically, this laboratory aims to help the company test their camera phones and further improve them.

The facility we visited highlights a controlled environment that mimics an actual living room, hotel, fast food chain, KTV, and even a bar, among others to test the performance of the cameras of its smartphones in near real-life scenarios with different lighting conditions like daylight, indoor, and even low light.

To make their jobs easier, OPPO even designed intelligent robots that take photos and selfies in the different areas of the facility.

After taking the images, the robots will automatically upload the images to their own cloud which helps its researchers, experts, and engineers to calibrate and further optimize the performance of its cameras in terms of noise reduction, color accuracy, skin tones, and more, among others.

Based on a quick Google Search, this facility in Guandong is just one of the several Imaging Labs of the company. OPPO also has similar laboratories in tens of locations around the world including Hyderabad, India, and Yokohama, Japan.

So far, it seems like what OPPO is doing to improve their camera game is working as several OPPO handsets, especially their Reno and Find phones as well as its cousins from OnePlus are highly regarded camera phones most of the time.

What do you guys think?
