CASETiFY is in a lot of trouble right after DBrand sues them over Copyright Infringement claims.
To recap, CASETiFY is one of the most popular case brands however they allegedly copied Dbrand's design cases in collaboration with JerryRigEverything from the ground up.
JerryRigEverything is popularly known for evaluating the durability of various phones and breaking them down on his YouTube channel. With that, Dbrand has selected him as a partner for making the teardown skin series sometime in 2019. Apart from showing the insides, Jerry has included easter eggs to make these teardown skins distinct and special.
Upon looking at DBrand's lawsuit, it clearly stated that CASETiFY has blatantly copied the teardown-skins and even included the easter eggs for its "Inside Out" collection. This case collection has a more precise representation of the interior of Apple's devices, in addition to replicating the same easter eggs found on the DBrand teardown skins, particularly JerryRig's "Glass is Glass and Glass Breaks."
Adding salt to the injury, it looks like CASETiFY directly copied DBrand's teardown skins and has done tiny modifications to claim ownership of the designs.
The YouTuber has publicly called the attention of CASETiFY in his video and even mentioned the effort made in order to create an almost exact copy of DBrand's teardown skin. JerryRig also highlighted that it took them more than "10,000 hours" just to produce these unique skins.
The content creator also has expressed his disappointment on a global case company which is said to be valued at nearly USD 1 billion. Currently, CASETiFY has put down the "Inside Out" collection from their website although apparently, the case brand hasn't shared any statements regarding this matter.
