vivo V29 daylight ultra-wide landscape |
The first four (4) images listed above were taken in daylight. As you can see the sharpness, detail, and contrast are on point. What caught our eye were the vibrant and eye-catching color. Our only concern is that the ultra-wide is noticeably not as sharp as the main camera.

The same could be said with the shots at the Old Town of Kawagoe in Saitama, Japan. Sharpness, color and detail are great but when viewing images side-by-side, we can see the ultra-wide to be less sharp than the main camera.

|
vivo V29 5G's daylight selfie in Miyashita Park, Shibuya |
For the daylight selfies, the images are sharp and detailed with the colors being vibrant but the skin tones are not quite right. It tended to make Neil's skin browner than it should.

|
vivo V29 5G low light 2x |
|
vivo V29 5G low light ultra-wide |
In low light, the images are impressive across the main camera and the ultra-wide camera. It managed to make the sky brighter than it was gloomy. The image is sharp and detailed with vibrant color and good contrast.
Like the rest of the shots, the ultra-wide is only noticeably less sharp when comparing the photos from both cameras side-by-side.

vivo V29 5G night mode 1x |
|
vivo V29 5G night mode 2x |
|
vivo V29 5G night mode ultra-wide |
What surprised us were the stunning Night mode shots. The images are sharp and detailed enough while being contrasty and almost without noise or grain.
|
vivo V29 5G low light selfie in Ameyokocho |
|
vivo V29 5G night mode selfie |
Both the low light and night mode selfies take decently sharp images with good color and contrast. Where they differ is the control of the bright areas and light sources. The auto low light shot has overexposed bright areas while the Night mode is well exposed.
Quick thoughts
|
vivo V29 5G's rear design |
Overall, we were happy with the results of the rear and front cameras of the vivo V29 5G.
It takes decently sharp images with good color, contrast, and detail.
Our only concerns are the skin tones when taking selfies and the noticeably less sharp images when comparing the main rear camera and the rear ultra-wide camera.
Otherwise, we would be happy to have the vivo V29 5G as our daily driver and as our travel photography companion.
