Going cashless with your payments during overseas trips

For a worry-free vacation abroad, GCash said it is offering a Global Pay option that will allow its users to simply use its app when making transactions.

It even expanded the availability of this service to France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, UAE, United Kingdom, and the USA.

Using this is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Here's how:

How to scan to pay on GCash

1. Look for the Alipay+ and GCash logo at the checkout counter.

2. After logging into the GCash app, select the QR or PayQR button at the bottom of the screen.

3. Scan the merchant’s QR code, or tap “Pay Abroad with Alipay+” to have the merchant scan your generated QR.

4. Check the amount, and click Pay to see the receipt.

Through this service, GCash said this will help users eliminate the inconveniences of high exchange rates, carrying around too much cash, or withdrawing at ATMs with additional charges.
