VSTECS is the official Nintendo Switch distributor and service center in PH!
The Nintendo Switch has been around in the market for 6 years however, the Philippines does not have an official distributor. While you can purchase the portable console in stores like DataBlitz, Toys R Us, and GameXtreme the warranty service is not clear.
In a press release, VSTECS Phils., Incorporated formerly known as MSI-ECS Phils., Inc. announced that they are the official distributor of the popular Nintendo handheld in the country.
The company said the appointment was made to enhance the presence of Nintendo Switch in the country in terms of visibility and accessibility. The firm added that it will be the designated service center for the said hybrid console. This should give consumers reliable aftersales support through VSTECS and its affiliate service centers nationwide including maintenance services.
This is crucial since the Switch has been in a hot spot ever since due to its Joy-Con drift issue.
Our distributor appointment from Nintendo is a significant step towards making Nintendo Switch a household name in the Philippines. Our extensive channel network and market reach amplify our ability to deliver gaming products to a broader audience”, says Jimmy Go, president and CEO, of VSTECS Phils.
Currently, it is still unknown whether this will have an effect when it comes to the Switch's pricing at local retail but it is expected to make the inventories healthier, more presence of the units as well as more stable prices and reliable customer support.
