Aside from its new power banks, Anker recently launched its "Prime" 100W GaN Wall Charger in the Philippines. |
Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger (3 Ports) |
It's the company's newest wall charger in the country that can fast-charge multiple devices like smartphones, tablets, IoTs, and even laptops.

Looking at its build, the device is made with mostly polycarbonate materials. But, you know that it is solidly built as it has some heft. It also has a matte-like texture that is not that prone to fingerprint smudges.
 |
Foldable plug |
It even has a sturdy-looking foldable plug design to prevent the metal part from damaging or scratching your other gadgets when placed in the same compartment or pocket together.
I've already dropped the device accidentally a few times on my tiled floor and thankfully, it didn't have noticeable scratches. The dents are also only noticeable when you closely inspect the device.

Matte-like finish |
Compared with most 100W charging bricks we have had in the past, the new Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger (3 Ports) is considered tiny. Even when compared with my other "already compact" GaN chargers, it is smaller.
In particular, it measures just 155.7 x 54.6 x 49.5 mm. It is also lightweight at just 630 grams.
This makes it very easy to carry and can fit even in the small pockets or compartments of your bag. Personally, I have used this in 2 out of the country trips and it is my main charger for my laptop and phones.

3 ports in total |
In terms of features, this one packs a lot despite its size. It comes with 2x USB-C ports and 1x USB-A port. All ports support the PowerIQ 4.0 which automatically detects the power needed to the connected device.
According to Anker, this is compatible with more than 1,000 devices globally.
When plugged all at the same time, the max output of the USB-A port is 22.5W, the laptop USB-C port in the middle is 46W, and the phone USB-C port is 30W.
 |
3 devices all at the same time |
In my experience, it provides the same charging speed as the stock 65W GaN charger of my ASUS Zenbook 13 OLED. From 0 to 100 percent, only around 2 hours is needed.
This is also great in charging smaller IoT devices like your smartwatch or TWS buds as it only uses the safe amount of wattage needed for those devices.
 |
2W only on the FreeBuds Pro 3 |
For example, on my TWS buds like the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 3, the output it safely generates is only around 1-2W.
For safety, added the ActiveShield 2.0 tech here. Anker says that it intelligently monitors temperature and adjusts power output to prevent overheating and safeguard connected devices.
It is said to have 76 percent increased temperature detection than its previous generation.
While we do not have the tools to verify Anker's lab results, the Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger (3 Ports) doesn't heat up when you are charging just one device.
When you plug in 2 devices at the same time, the heat will increase a little, but it is not enough to be called warm for me.
When the 3rd USB-C port, it'll generate a bit more heat. Even if I turn off my air-conditioning in the office, the heat it generates is close to fever-like, but far from alarming.
It also seems that the "heat" doesn't affect the overall charging speed.
