PLDT earlier announced that the company has started rolling out its next-generation ultra-fast internet service, the Gigabit Fiber plans.

According to the company, this new plan is up to 10 times faster than any other plan available in the Philippines.

The Gigabit Fiber plans of PLDT Home are available in four different options: 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, and 10 Gbps.  

The company claims that these are "mind-blowing" speeds that enable simultaneous ultra-fast and high-bandwidth online activities for everyone at home.

Each plan also comes with a Gigabit modem with WiFi 6 whole home mesh system,  subscriptions to IPTV and global streaming apps, and security services for personal devices at home.

Moreover, PLDT will give its subscribers exclusive perks such as premium welcome kits and access to PLDT Home exclusive events and venues.

To those who do not know, "gigabit" is the next generation of Fiber high-speed internet, pushing limits to at least 100 times faster than today’s average internet connection of 100 Mbps at home.

Gigabit is a unit of measurement referring to the data transfer speed of the connection. While fast, current plans only transmit hundreds of megabits per second.

The company also boasts that these plans are more consistent and reliable than other plans.

The plans are likely great for large families and groups who may have huge demands for a lag-free connection for everything they do in every computer and gadget—a reality that is becoming the new normal in Filipino homes.

Even power users who consume at least 5 TB of data per month may now download and upload large volumes of data in seconds, stream 4K video, or play high-demand online games with no lag. HD movies and series could be downloaded in a few moments and numerous large files could be transmitted without much waiting time for better efficiency and productivity at work and school from home.

PLDT Home's Gigabit Fiber plans will be available initially in select villages in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
