Sony FE 24-50mm F2.8 G lens launched in PH, priced at PHP 69,990!

Sony announces the availability of its new compact lens for its photography consumers.

The lens design

Sony FE 24-50mm F2.8 G lens is now official!

According to Sony, the latest tiny full-frame E-mount lens FE 24-50mm F2.8G brings high-resolution performance and beautiful bokeh all while having a small and lightweight design.

Sony added that its focal lengths which range from 24mm to 50mm should allow users to high-quality images for their typical snapshots, portraits, and video shooting. Meanwhile, the small form allows for easier storage and can fit in the tiniest kit bags.

The FE 24-50mm F2.8 G lens has user-friendly features such as a configurable focus hold button, aperture ring, ON/OFF switch, and focus mode switch for easy operation and control. These lenses are dust and moisture-proof, with a fluorine coating to prevent dirt from clinging to the front surface.

The lens is compact in size, with a filter diameter of φ67 mm, maximum diameter of 74.8 mm, length of 92.3 mm, and weight of roughly 440 grams.

Sony claims that the configuration of four aspherical lenses and two pieces of ED glass results in sharp and detailed images at all focal lengths. This reduces aberrations like chromatic aberration and achieves high-resolution performance from center to corner. The FE 24-50mm F2.8 G lens features an 11-blade circular aperture and optimized spherical aberration, giving in the G Lens series' signature soft, smooth bokeh. It has a minimum shooting distance of 0.19 m (AF) at the wide end and a maximum magnification of 0.30 x (AF) for high-quality close-up shots.

The camera's AF (auto focus) system, powered by two linear motors, provides fast, precise, and silent focusing. The full-frame mirrorless camera Alpha 9 III 2 allows for high-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking at up to 120 frames per second. The camera offers AF tracking for high-frame-rate 4K 120p or FHD 240p video recording, as well as Active Mode image stabilization for steady shooting while walking (3, 4). It also supports focus breathing compensation on camera bodies, enabling high-quality video expression, Sony says.

Furthermore, Sony also stated that you can also pair this lens on the Sony Alpha 7C II compact full-frame camera which is packed with innovative capture technology for still and movies. Meanwhile, the said camera is now available in Silver color.
