Moving to the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G, appears in a typical Galaxy design with less glossy material at the back. This offers minimalist looks compared to TECNO's flashy rear design.

Display - For screen, TECNO uses a bigger 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2,160 PWM dimming for lesser eye strain, and 240Hz touch sampling rate that can go up to 1500Hz which can be an advantage for gamer consumers.

The display

Samsung's display offers a slightly smaller size at 6.5-inch AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate, 800 nits of peak brightness, and support for Vision Booster. This is more targeted for casual users. Since it offers a smaller screen at FHD+ resolution, you're getting a slightly better ppi at 396.

Specs - TECNO's choice of chip appears to be slightly better despite the naming of Dimensity 6080 over Samsung's Dimensity 6100+. The reason is that TECNO's chip has a higher clock speed at 2.4GHz vs Samsung's 2.2GHz. Still, both are efficient in power draw at 6nm while they also share the same GPU of Mali-G57 MC2. Nevertheless, their processor prowess is almost similar.

For memory configuration, TECNO POVA 6 Pro 5G has a more generous approach with its 12GB LPDDR4X RAM + 12GB virtual RAM and large 256GB storage.

Meanwhile, Samsung offers a more affordable memory configuration of 4GB/128GB at PHP 9,990. While the 8GB/256GB trim will surpass TECNO's pricing at 13,990 but will not match the RAM offering.

For battery, again TECNO wins here thanks to its 6,000mAh size that can be charged using 70W Ultra Charge and even supports Bypass Charge. This means users can keep on using the phone while being plugged in without worrying about the battery's health.

On the other hand, Samsung still offers the standard capacity of 5,000mAh but with a slower 25W power adaptor. That means you'll have a longer waiting time to fully charge the device.
The cameras
The cameras

Cameras - TECNO offers 108MP f/1.89 + 2MP f/2.4 camera + AI cam + LED flash. As you can see it offers a higher resolution main cam and some helpers for depth and macro.

Samsung uses a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and AF + 5MP ultra-wide snapper + 2MP f/2.2 macro sensor. While it offers a weaker main sensor, you'll get an option to shoot in wider scenarios which can be useful in certain situations.

For selfies, again TECNO POVA 6 Pro 5G receives a higher 32MP + Dual-tone LED flash. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A15 provides a 13MP selfie camera.

Other features - TECNO offers a lot of features here with an In-Display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, cooling system, Hi-Res audio, Dolby atmos support, and immersive vibration.

For Samsung, you can get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, single firing speaker, and 2 microphones.

For connectivity, both have WiFi 2.4GHz/5GHz, 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G LTE, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM support.

realme 12 Pro+ 5G advantages - Dynamic Mini-LED design, feature-packed display, a slightly faster chip, bigger RAM, storage, 70W fast charging, better main cam
Samsung Galaxy A15 - Ultra-wide camera, longer software support

Our thoughts

TECNO POVA 6 Pro 5G brings a lot to the table for its price of PHP 11,999 with better hardware, attractive gaming features, a bigger battery, faster charging, better main cam which leaves Samsung Galaxy A15 5G by a mile which is priced higher for the 8GB/256GB variant.

But this phone also offers up to 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches like many recent Galaxy devices. On the other hand, TECNO may likely only follow Google's mandatory 2 years of updates.

What do you guys think?
