Globe boosts network with 116 new cell sites

Ayala-led Globe Telecom strengthened its network’s reach and capacity by establishing 116 new cell sites.

Globe deploys more cell sites

In a statement, it added that the company also upgraded more than 800 mobile sites to LTE in the first three months of 2024.

The group also deployed 19,544 fiber-to-the-home lines, promising faster connectivity. With this expansion, despite the slash in capital expenditures, Globe hopes to serve the underserved prepaid fiber market.

Our plan supplements investments we’ve made in the last 3-4 years. We remain focused on improving service consistency and availability to deliver good customer experience and support traffic across regions and territories, said Joel Agustin, Globe’s SVP and Head of Network Planning and Engineering.

Globe said it would continue to strengthen its network to cater to the rising demand for reliable internet connection being used for online learning, remote work, e-commerce, and entertainment

The company's strategic initiatives and investments are set to pave the way for a more digitally inclusive future, ensuring that the benefits of technology reach every corner of the nation, Globe said.
