Leica LUX is now official for iPhones!
According to a report by Peta Pixel, Leica Camera AG has announced Leica LUX, which its new iPhone camera app. This aims to bring Leica’s iconic image look to iPhone photography, catering from quick snapshots to advanced photography.
Whether you’re capturing a spontaneous moment on the go or carefully composing a shot using manual controls, Leica LUX ensures that every photo reflects the dependability and authenticity that Leica is known for, the app’s description read on the Apple App Store.

In Aperture Mode, iPhone photographers can capture images with digital replicas of various classic Leica lenses, such as the Summilux-M 28 f/1.4 ASPH and Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH. Leveraging Leica’s proprietary image processing engine, these lens simulations let users experience the distinctive look and beautiful bokeh that Leica lenses are known for.
Apple said new lenses will be added to Leica LUX every month.
Leica LUX also builds on Leica’s color science to offer the same color grading and film presets found in its cameras, with options like Leica Classic, Leica Contemporary, and Leica Black & White.
For beginners who are still not used to the manual controls, the app also has an automatic mode.
The app also allows users to adjust controls like exposure compensation, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, manual focus, various focusing modes, and RAW/ProRAW.
“With Leica LUX, your iPhone becomes a tool for capturing moments that transcend the ordinary,” the description read.
Leica LUX requires iOS 17.1 or later. It can be downloaded for free, but there will be in-app purchases to access more features.
