Nothing Phone (2a) Plus unveiled: Dimensity 7350 Plus, 50MP front and back, metallic design

As expected, Nothing Phone (2a) Plus officially arrives today bringing some minor upgrades from its predecessor.

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is now official

As the main highlight, it comes with an exclusive Dimensity 7350 Plus chip which comprises 8-core CPUs. It has 2x Cortex-A715 clocked at 3.0GHz + 6x Cortex-A510 with 2.0GHz frequency. The GPU is similar to Mali-G610 MC4 with 1.3GHz speed. 

The brand claims this brings 10 percent faster CPU improvement and a 30 percent increase in the GPU department. In other words, it is basically an overclocked version of the Dimensity 7200 Pro of the Phone (2a).

The front and back view

The phone's back has a metallic appearance created through a novel fusion of nano-coating, multi-layer printing processes, patented ink formulations, and carefully selected coating components. A method that necessitated complex texturing and significant technical research. Nothing claimed that it produces an exclusive shine, acquired after over 20 manufacturing steps and several sampling rounds.

Moreover, the company retained the  LEDs for the glyph on the rear, three separations, and 26 controllable LED lighting zones.

The features

In front, it uses a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ panel with 30-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, HDR10+, 10-bit color, 1,300 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The exclusive chip is paired with 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired charging.

For cameras, it has a 50MP Samsung GN9 main shooter + a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP Samsung JN1 selfie camera.

Other features noted are an improved liquid cooling system with a 3,200mm2 vapor chamber and a 12,000mm2 large cooling area. It also has stereo speakers and is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance.

For connectivity, it has 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

It also runs Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.6 skin on top.

India price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus 12GB/256GB - INR 29,999 (around PHP 20.9K)

It is now available in India via Flipkart. Meanwhile, it is already listed on Nothing Philippines' website. There's no word yet if Digital Walker will bring this to the country.
