Meet TECNO SPARK 20 Pro 5G |
As its name suggests, the device is equipped with current-generation connectivity technology and has a sparkling neat design.
AND on paper, this is one of the most competitive all-rounders we've seen at this price point yet.
Let's see its top features
What makes the TECNO SPARK 20 Pro 5G a killer all-rounder on a budget?
 |
Nice texture at the back |
1. High-end looks for less - For a budget smartphone, the SPARK 20 Pro 5G has some of the best back designs we've seen.
TECNO is calling it the "Lame Curve Design" inspired by a "superellipse" with minimalist blends of squares and circles.

TECNO SPARK 20 Pro 5G unboxed |
In the Philippines, it uses a Composite Material available in Starlight Black and Glossy White colorways.
One of the most premium-looking phones for the price
The unit I have is the Starlight Black which shines beautifully depending on where the light hits it. The top left island has a hump to house its cameras and LED flash.
It also has nice overall cures with a velvety texture making it comfortable to hold overall.
 |
The display with a top-center punch-hole |
In front, it has a modern-looking top-center punch-hole with slim top and side bezels. What TECNO could improve is the thickness of its bottom bezels, but this is still acceptable for the price.
 |
Slimness of the phone and the side-mounted fingerprint reader |
The device measures 168.51 x 76.21 mm making it not that big and is fairly slim at 8.29 mm. The handset weighs 199 grams.
 |
The SIM tray slot |
Plus, even if it has no IP rating, it has a red rubber ring on the SIM tray slot that could somehow prevent water from entering the internals of the handset.
2. Capable overall specs - The TECNO SPARK 20 Pro 5G also has capable overall specs for the price.
 |
A nice display for multimedia consumption |
First, it has a nice 6.78-inch LCD (IPS) display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It is a pretty good display capable of allowing its users to watch YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+, and play games in 1080p+ resolution.
Yes, has Widevine L1 support to allow high-resolution streaming for several OTT apps. This display also has decent overall colors and can go quite bright to be usable even outdoors. It has stereo speakers and Hi-Res Audio certification for wired and wireless earphones as well.
 |
Geekbench score |
The chipset it uses is also considered as fast and modern for the price. In particular, it is equipped with the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 octa-core processor with up to 2.4GHz clock speed paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
Fast enough specs for most casual users!
It also has 8GB RAM (up to 16GB in total using its Extended RAM tech) and 256GB larger expandable internal storage.
Based on what we experienced, this is fast enough to run most of the basic social media apps like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and X. We also never had issues when editing videos via CapCut Pro for mobile.
Since it is not a gaming-focused phone, we didn't really expect to perform as well as other phones advertised as gaming phones, but for the price it still held its own. It runs MLBB smoothly using default settings and Genshin Impact is playable with minimal lag at low lettings.
The device also has a large 5,000mAh battery capacity. In our experience, it can last for an entire workday (around 10 hours) on a single charge with about 30 percent battery left in the tank.
Then you can charge it with a 33W Super Charge via USB-C. A 0 to 100 percent charge is just over 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The thermals aren't bad as well.
 |
5G speed test sample with just 3 bars of signal |
Of course, it has 5G connectivity for faster data speeds than 4G. It works and helps us enjoy faster browsing, near-lag-free streaming, and smoother gameplay.
Personally, we are getting decent speeds even if the 5G signal in our area is not that strong.
 |
The camera hump |
3. Amazing for photos for a budget phone - The main highlight of this handset is its 108MP Ultra Sensing camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor.
This is probably the best phone for photography under PHP 10K
In my experience, it is one of the most capable primary cameras in the under PHP 10K range. While there are other phones with a similar primary camera configuration, this is the first budget phone that we have tried that can compete with the exposure, dynamic range, colors, and overall quality of other mid-range camera phones.
Most of the shots we took even in harsher conditions or even in low light situations are more than acceptable for the price. It is mostly crisp with minimal noise and the colors are generally punchy.
Even the 3x zoom is very much usable and the Portrait mode has pretty good edge detection.
 |
8MP camera with flash |
The selfie camera even at just 8MP performs even better than some higher phones. This also has a Dual Color Temperature Flash with adjustable brightness and tone.
For videos, it records up to 2K at 30fps and it is mostly crisp even for indoor use. The con is there is no OIS for stabilization.

Quick thoughts
The TECNO SPARK 20 Pro is definitely one of the must-check smartphones in the sub-PHP 10K category especially if you are looking for one with a premium design, capable overall performance, and generally impressive cameras. It even has 5G and not all budget phones have that tech.
All of its minor downsides are understandable considering that its price is quite low.
Overall, I personally highly recommend this device for anyone in need of a pretty good budget all-around phone.
Those who will purchase it during its first sale duration online may even get it at discounted rates. Online, you can get this at Lazada,
Shopee, and
TikTok Shop. Offline, the handset is on sale at TECNO retail stores in the malls.
