HUAWEI MateBook GT14 launched: up to Core Ultra 9 185H, 2.8K OLED, improved cooling, and discreet GPU

HUAWEI has announced the MateBook GT14 with gaming capabilities, improved cooling, and AI features.

It comes with a sleek form factor metal unibody available in Silver colorway.

Among its highlights is the new thermal design for an improved cooling of the laptop.

Better cooling 

HUAWEI boasts the metalized graphene cooling technology which includes a rear exhaust structure, a generation 2 shark fin fans, and a 10,000-hole dot matrix air intake. With this design, it allows better thermal management and better heat dissipation when in performance mode.

For display, it uses a 14.2-inch OLED 10-point multi-touch panel with 2.8K 2880 x 1920 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, 3:2 aspect ratio, Adobe RGB and P3, sRGB wide color gamut supports, and 1.07 billion colors.

The display

Inside, the laptop comes with three 3 processor options such as Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, and Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. These are paired with 16GB/32GB RAM, and 1TB/2TB storage.

The chips also use Intel Sharp Graphics GPU allowing users for creative design, data analysis, engineering sketching, gaming, or other tasks.

It also includes a discrete Hi GT Cube graphics card, which provides a high power supply. This component breathes new life into complex activities like 3D video rendering and gaming, as well as making consumer images absolutely stunning.

For battery, the laptop features a 70WHr capacity which charges using a 140W fast charging brick. HUAWEI claims this provides 3 hours of juice in 10 minutes of plugging in.

It also features new AI capabilities like the AI Minutes that can write words mentioned in a meeting and form a personalized summary of what was tackled in a meeting. Additionally, it can translate words in your preferred language.

Another worth mentioning is the AI Subtitles which bring real-time translation during international meetings. The AI eyes can recognize the user's iris and make them look more appealing during video calls.

For ports, the laptop uses USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, 3.5mm audio jack, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI, and SD card slot.

It is currently available only in China. No word yet if it will come to the Philippines.
