The Chinese tech giant has secured the top spot in the global wearable tech market for the second quarter of 2024, according to the latest data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker.

During the period, HUAWEI recorded 8.9 million units in shipments and a 20.3 percent market share. These improved from 6.3 million units shipments and 14.2 percent market share in Q2 of 2023.

Overall, HUAWEI recorded a 42.1 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth rate.

The company said its launch of wearable devices boosted its performance in the first half of 2023, with a 55.1 percent YoY increase in shipments. HUAWEI said it has achieved significant growth in regions such as the Middle East and Africa, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe.

HUAWEI's recent success in the wearable market was attributed to the launch of the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3 and HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 Series. These devices feature innovative features and advanced health-tracking capabilities.

The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3 is ideal for those seeking a modern smartwatch with excellent battery life, while the HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 Series appeals to those who prefer a more classic design.

The brand's dominance in the market in Q2 of 2024 is a testament to its ability to innovate and adapt. With its highly anticipated launch, HUAWEI is poised to shape the future of wearable technology, delivering innovative devices that meet the ever-evolving needs of users worldwide, the company said.
