Amazon has introduced its new Kindle devices. One of which is the all-new Kindle Colorsoft which has a high contrast display, fast page turns, an auto-adjusting front light, and weeks of battery life.
This is also the first colored Kindle that allows users to browse covers in color, see book photos and images in color, or add color highlights.
The device uses an oxide backplane with custom waveforms for fast performance and higher contrast on both color and black-and-white content. Its custom Colorsoft display includes a new light guide with nitride LEDs that, when combined with custom algorithms, enhances color and increases brightness.
Kindle Colorsoft comes with wireless charging, up to eight weeks of battery life, and is waterproof.
Also launched was the new Kindle Scribe with a display featuring new white borders, and a paper-like texture. Its partner, the Premium Pen, was designed to feel like users are holding an actual pen, and the new soft-tipped eraser feels like a pencil.
This device features Active Canvas allowing users to directly write in the book. Soon, notes can be written in the side panel and hide them. Furthermore, the built-in AI-powered notebook enables more features such as making summaries quickly and refining notes.
Amazon said the latest Kindle line also includes the fastest Kindle Paperwhite since its launch in 2012. Scrolling through the Kindle Library or Store is enhanced with 25 percent faster page turns.
The display uses an oxide thin-film transistor, making it the highest contrast ratio of any Kindle. A larger, 7-inch display is a first for Kindle Paperwhite—and yet, it is also the thinnest Kindle Paperwhite with up to three months of battery life.
Kindle Paperwhite is waterproof with 16 GB of storage. It comes in Raspberry, Jade, and Black.
Meanwhile, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition comes with 32 GB of storage, optional wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light. Its color variants are Metallic Raspberry, Metallic Jade, and Metallic Black.
For those still discovering Kindle, an entry-level variant was also recently launched. It weighs 158g and is small enough to fit in hand or carry in the back pocket.
This has a 300 ppi, a higher contrast ratio, and a front light that is 25 percent brighter at the max setting. It comes in the new Matcha color, offers weeks of battery life from a single charge, and has 16 GB of storage.
For kids, the new entry Kindle Kids is available in Space Whale, Ocean Explorer, and Unicorn Valley; and the new Kindle Paperwhite Kids comes with a Cyber City, Starfish, or Diary of a Wimpy Kid cover, designed by international bestselling author Jeff Kinney.
Both devices come with a 2-year worry-free guarantee and six months of Amazon Kids+ included, a kid-friendly subscription service that provides access to thousands of age-appropriate books and audiobooks.
Amazon said all Kindle devices come with various benefits such as a 3-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited.
