To recap, it features an ultra-slim 6.8mm design, a premium body, a curved 120Hz AMOLED panel, 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio G100 with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 16GB dynamic RAM, 256GB storage, 5,000mAh battery + 33W charging, and 50MP main camera.

Moving forward let's unbox it!

Unboxing/Accessories

The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ box

The box came with a different design from the previous version. This time, it comes with the Honor of Kings logo and character while also bearing the Infinix brand's name. Additionally, you could see the 16GB Dynamic RAM/256GB storage, 5-year fluency rating from TÜV Rheinland, and the JBL logo.
Inside the box

Opening the box, you will see the unit itself, which has the Titanium Grey variant, USB-C cable, 33W charging brick, transparent case, SIM injector tool, tempered glass, Honor of Kings QR code, and paperwork.

Build Quality/Design

The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ back design

Infinix says they used Titanium Feather Frame architecture and Pine 9419 material to keep it slim.

Upon inspection, it's mostly built with a metallic body and frame. The overall structure feels solid, it won't even budge when we try to bend it with some applied force.

Sturdy build and crazy super-slim construction

We accidentally dropped it a few times and we almost had that mini heart attack. Luckily, it didn't have scratches or dents on the frames, rear, or screen. Kudos to Infinix for having such a durable build despite having a thin design.

It is also nice to note that the phone has an IP54 rating to protect it from dust and water splashes.

When it comes to the design, the Titanium Grey colorway strikes a classy appearance with its clean aesthetics while there's a hint of glow when you twist the phone.

Also, the back surface is resistant to fingerprints while it feels metallic to the touch.
Extremely slim budget phone

Now of its highlight, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ has a 6.8mm ultra-thin profile. That makes it the slimmest smartphone under the Infinix lineup yet and one of the slimmest in the world too.
The right side

Looking at the right side, you'll see the volume rockers and power button.
The left side

While on the left side, you'll be met with a blank frame.
The top view

The top part shows two tiny speaker holes, Sound by JBL engraving, and what appears to be a microphone hole.
The bottom view

At the bottom, there are four speaker holes completing the stereo setup, a USB-C port, another microphone hole, and the slot for the SIM injector. There's also a rubber gasket confirming the IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The display

In front, the device uses a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen with Full HD+ 2436 x 1080 resolution and 120hz refresh rate.

Inside, the phone is powered by the 2.2GHz 6nm MediaTek Helio G100 octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 8GB RAM + 8GB virtual RAM, and 256GB storage.

It also sport a 5,000mAh battery with USB-C and 33W fast charger.
The cameras

For cameras, it uses a 50MP Sony IMX582 main shooter + 2MP depth and macro.

Our initial photos showed that it can produce good photos in daylight and indoor situations. The colors looked nice and accurate although they fell short in the dynamic range.

We personally liked our shots inside the mall and taking photos of our food which appears detailed, crisp, and has good textures.

For our night samples, it produced visible noise and glares with acceptable color. We've expected this since it's just a budget phone anyway. Using the night mode will give a brighter output but at the expense of more noise and glares.

There are also situations in which you will get fewer after-effects provided the scene has better lighting.

We would also like to point out a software issue like the watermark as it tends to work or not work depending on the shooting mode. But that can be fixed via software updates.

For selfies, we were able to get good results in a well-lit environment with good color accuracy, details, and texture.

In low light, the image was acceptable but you'll notice the blurry and washed background as well as visible noise and reduced dynamic range.

We'll be observing it more in the coming days for our full review.

The ultra-slim design while maintaining a durable-looking structure is worth praising, the display is AMOLED with 120Hz + FHD+ resolution which is rare for the price, and the processor choice will surely attract gamers on a budget.

Not to mention it also offers large storage and a Sony sensor at its price range.

So far, we like what the phone brings to the table as it definitely has a lot of pros for the expected price tag. We will give you further insights on our upcoming full review soon.

Stay tuned.
