BYD turns heads with the new Seal 5 DM-i plug-in hybrid with a range of 1,240 kilometers for a starting price of only PHP 948,000.
BYD Cars Philippines celebrates the brand's 30th year with ACMobility by proudly introducing their new sedan which the brand claims is tailored for practical and progressive first-time car buyers.
Visually, the car features a sleek and modern design that emphasizes the car's curves, LED headlights and the full-width LED taillights. It measures 4,780 x 1837 x 1,495mm and weighs 1,515kg.
The car is equipped with a 1.5 litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine working in tandem with an electric motor at high efficiency. The Dynamic variant has an 8.3kWh battery pack which produces 179 horsepower, 316Nm of torque and 1,175 km range while the Premium variant carries an 18.3 kWh battery pack with 197 horsepower, 325 Nm of Torque and 1,240km range.
The same BYD Blade Battery which features Vehicle-to-Load capability. This means it can power small appliances in case of emergencies. It takes 3 to 3.5 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent with either the hosehold socket or the wall box charger.
Inside the cabin are the 12.8-inch rotating touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.8-inch Digital Gauge Cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, Leather seats, wireless device charger and Multiple USB-C ports. The Premium variant adds an 8 speaker audio system and the 6-way power adjustment Leather seats.
For security and safety, the sedan features 6 airbags, strong seatbelts, rear sensors, multiple cameras, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Hold Control (HHC), and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS).
In the Philippines, the BYD Seal 5 DM-i comes in either Quartz Blue, Arctic White, Cosmos Black or Harbour Gray.

Like other models in the BYD line-up, the new BYD Seal 5 DM-i sedan carries an extensive 8-year warranty or 160,000km warranty (whichever comes first) for the BYD Blade Battery, an 8-year or 150,000km warranty (whichever comes first) for its drive unit, and a 6-year or 150,000km warranty (whichever comes first) vehicle warranty.
