Globe mobilizes PH's 1st Private 5G network for B2B connectivity

Globe has deployed the Philippines' first fully operational Private 5G Network, aimed at addressing key operational challenges across many industries.

Installed at Globe's Makati City facility, this on-premise network highlights 5G technology's potential to deliver advanced, reliable, and efficient digital solutions for critical business functions. 

Unlike public networks, Globe’s Private 5G Network offers businesses dedicated bandwidth, enabling enhanced control, security, and performance tailored to their specific needs.

The network also allows for customization to deliver high-performance, low-latency, and secure connectivity tailored to the needs of specific organizations, facilities, or operations. 

The service will soon be available to Globe’s Business-to-Business (B2B) clients in industries such as ports, mining, and manufacturing, give new opportunities for innovation across various sectors.

To maintain its innovative edge, Globe says it continously collaborates with global technology providers and system integrators. As an expample, there's a pilot project with Nokia Shanghai Bell which they showcased features like Video Surveillance and Analytics, including people counting, facial recognition, gender detection, and vehicle plate tracking.

These capabilities are particularly beneficial in ensuring operational safety, workforce management, and asset tracking, to help businesses operate more efficiently and securely.

Globe added that its Private 5G Network deployment signals the company’s continued commitment to driving digital innovation and providing B2B clients with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
