2025's high-end chip?

The leak came from Digital Chat Station (DCS) which has been providing nearly accurate tips on Weibo.

The said upcoming processor is designed to narrow the performance gap between premium and affordable mid-range smartphones. Moreover, the leak suggests it may even rival a former flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in performance while having a lower price point.

DCS claimed it will even reach a score of around 2 million points in AnTuTu making it slightly trailing behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

He added that the alleged chip won't be using the Oryon cores that we've seen on Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, it will have a more conventional CPU design with Cortex-X4 prime core and A720 efficiency cores thus theoretically will provide a performance quite identical to the SD8G3.

It is anticipated as well to have somewhat lower performance in GPU-intensive workloads than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This trade-off could be an intended move by Qualcomm to have efficient power usage while maintaining competitive pricing in its class.

Finally, the chip has been spotted in a Geekbench listing with an SM8735 model number. An Alleged iQOO Z10 Turbo will be the first to use this alongside Xiaomi, HONOR, and OPPO which are expected to launch sometime in April.
