HONOR will introduce deepfake detection on MWC 2025

HONOR says its device will soon be able to detect deepfakes as part of its Alpha Plan that will debut on MWC 2025.

The brand claims this technology will be able to distinguish fabricated content by examining eye contact, lighting, image clarity, and video playback thus providing users an insight into whether they are seeing authentic or fake posts.

Nowadays, Deepfakes have been rampant due to the development of AI technologies and such features are being used responsibly or with malicious intent.

Even DICT has warned the public of its major threat in the upcoming elections to fool people because of its nearly realistic effects which include face swapping or even copying the actual voice.

HONOR added that its technology has been trained through a vast dataset of videos and images related to online scams allowing AI to pinpoint which are real, synthetic, or altered thus providing users a risk warning upon detection.

AI Defocus Eye Protection

In AI-related news, HONOR will also introduce the AI Defocus Eye Protection. A new technology designed to help protect your eyes from strain caused by long screen time. With more people becoming nearsighted due to excessive screen use, this tech uses AI to mimic the effect of special glasses (called defocus glasses) on your phone or device’s screen.

Defocus glasses gently blur the edges of your vision while keeping the center clear. This helps slow down eye strain and prevents nearsightedness. HONOR’s AI version does the same thing digitally on your screen.

After 25 minutes of reading, HONOR claims this technology has been shown to reduce temporary nearsightedness by an average of 13 degrees, with some users seeing up to a 75-degree improvement. This means it not only prevents eye strain but also provides relief.

Finally, HONOR will also be integrating their devices with the newly introduced AI called DeepSeek R1 to aid users with their productivity on the go.
