Better imaging on mid-range?

The brand claims this will bring more accurate skin tones and inclusivity across different ethnicities and settings thanks to the use of a new 372-patch multi-skin tone color card and a beefed-up multi-skin tone color restoration engine.

The aforementioned 372 patches will cover diverse colors from different continents like Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

Furthermore, this tool enhances skin tone measurement and supports Universal Tone algorithms to achieve more precise output. During MWC 2025, the brand will also highlight two versions of the card: one for darker tones and another for lighter tones to showcase the versatile technology.

Additionally, TECNO collaborated with the University of Leeds and Dar Al-Hekma University in late 2024 to create a Saudi-specific color card with 186 patches, tailored to regional skin tones.
The improved Universal Skin Tone tech

Meanwhile, the phone maker says its upgraded Multi-Skin Tone Color Restoration Engine now includes an advanced CCM Skin Tone Calibration Algorithm and a Spectrum-Based AWB Algorithm. These ensure precise color adjustments and correct color shifts in challenging lighting, like single-color backgrounds.

TECNO noted the skin tone preciseness will be better by 50 percent thus producing natural shots the way it is intended to be. Another highlight is the Skin-Tone Grading Exposure Algorithm which retains consistency in brightness and tone, particularly in challenging environments such as backlighting.

Finally, the brand will showcase all of these at the MWC Barcelona 2025. You may catch the booth at Hall 6, Stand 6B11, Fira Gran Via.
