Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specs unveiled prior to the official launch

The highly anticipated flagship is slated to go official in February, but right before its official launch, Xiaomi Group's Partner and President/General Manager, Lu Weibing revealed major information that fans have been waiting for.

Prominent Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station has translated and summarized Xiaomi's live broadcast.

Among the key specs to expect are upgraded LEICA cameras such as a 50MP main shooter 1/0.98-inch 23mm, f/1.63, and 23mm lens.

Next is the 50MP ultra-wide with 14mm and f/2.2 aperture. The third sensor is another 50MP telephoto with a 70mm range, f/1.8, and 10cm telemacro.

The last camera is a 200MP telephoto shooter with a 1/1.4-inch, 100mm lens, f/2.6 with in-sensor zoom reaching 200mm or 400mm bringing several focal lengths such as 0.6, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4.3x, 8.7x, 17.3x.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will have improved night photography by using an ultra-pure optical system and is made to establish a new standard in terms of mobile photography. Apparently, there won't be a variable aperture in this generation.

With the greatest hardware available, Xiaomi has repositioned the 15 Ultra from an imaging flagship to a "pinnacle imaging technology flagship." But the price will go up as well. The gadget will highlight Xiaomi's superior battery, display, and networking technologies in addition to camera upgrades.

The executive said, that with the best hardware available, Xiaomi has repositioned the 15 Ultra from an imaging flagship to a "pinnacle imaging technology flagship." But the price will go up as well. Furthermore, the device will highlight Xiaomi's superior battery, display, and networking technologies in addition to camera upgrades.

Another major news from the brand is the Xiaomi Imaging Lab. This will be a real-world testing facility in which the company has invested CNY 20M or PHP 159.6M to develop and includes precise recreation of cafes, museums, jewelry stores, luxury boutiques, and restaurants.

Although the brand says, it is currently in the 1st phase of the project. The next phase will include artificial sunlight and water systems. The level of investment in the lab explains why Xiaomi no longer favors DXOMARK rankings.
