POCO's new flagship contender for 2026

POCO has confirmed the global launch date for its upcoming F9 series, ending months of speculation fueled by leaks. The lineup is set to debut worldwide on September 1.

The series is expected to include two models, the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra, with the company again forgoing a standard variant, following the pattern set by its predecessor.

According to reports, the Poco F9 Pro will feature a 6.59-inch QHD+ Plastic OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate, while the F9 Ultra is tipped to come with a larger 6.85-inch panel at 2608 x 1200 resolution. 

Both displays are said to be developed in partnership with TCL CSOT, with Xiaomi involved in design and material selection.

The F9 Pro is expected to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V, which has one less GPU than the standard version.

Meanwhile, the F9 Ultra will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (same as last year's F8 Ultra).

Moreover, both devices are expected to have configurations offering up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. 

Battery capacity is expected to differ between the two models, with the F9 Pro reportedly housing a 6,330mAh battery and the F9 Ultra a larger 8,050mAh unit. Both are said to support 100W wired charging and USB Power Delivery.

Additional rumored features include Bose-tuned speakers, IP69 certification, and metal frames, with the F9 Ultra reportedly set to include an LED notification ring surrounding its camera module.

Finally, they will also feature the same Bose-tuned speakers, with the Pro having a stereo setup while the Ultra will have the 2.1ch output.

With regard to prices, we are not going to be surprised if it is hit by the RAM and memory shortage effect. Based on POCO's recent price updates, even the affordable flagship POCO F8 Ultra was raised to PHP 52K coming from PHP 41,999.

Anyway, POCO is offering some exclusive offers with the F9 Pro when you pre-order it. The listing says you'll receive a Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active as well as REDMI Buds 6 Play, with a total worth of PHP 2,148.
