HONOR claimed that this upcoming foldable phone in the Philippines is legitimately built tough.
HONOR Magic V6 durability?

To prove it, HONOR Philippines recently brought the local media to the Angeles City Flying Club to do a live demo on how durable this phone is.

The first demo highlighted the phone’s water resistance. While most foldables struggle to fully seal their hinges, HONOR’s Magic V6 stands out with IP68 and IP69 dust‑ and water‑resistance ratings—high enough to survive full freshwater submersion.

To show how tough the HONOR Super Steel Hinge is, the company also attached it to a special mechanism. They even staged a pull‑up challenge. A man weighing 86 kilograms did several pull‑ups, and it did not break.

The last test was extreme. HONOR placed the phone in the middle of a pulling mechanism to tow an aircraft weighing approximately 1 ton. They pulled it up to 100 meters.

After that, the phone was still fully functional. We even managed to take a group selfie with the captain of the plane.

In addition, the handset has robust UTG Glass with ultra‑high impact resistance as well as the highest anti‑wear technology, likely helping minimize the crease for long‑term use.

HONOR claims that this can survive up to 500,000 folds or approximately 10 years.

With these tests and claims, HONOR showcased why the Magic V6 is built to last.

Basically, aside from having its extra‑thin 8.75mm body when folded, high‑quality inner folding and cover screens, true 2026 flagship specs, a large 6,600mAh battery for a foldable, and capable cameras, this handset is guaranteed tough for our peace of mind.

The HONOR Magic V6 was originally slated to launch in the Philippines last August 18, but due to the weather, they moved it to today, August 24, 2026.

Official pricing and availability details will be revealed tonight.
