vivo Y29s 5G launched: Dimensity 6300, Military-grade build, IP64, and 5,500mAh battery

The new vivo Y29s 5G comes in a polycarbonate frame and composite plastic rear panel while the front is a glass panel. It measures 167.3 x 76.95 x 8.19mm and weighs 199 grams. It comes in either Gold or Green.

vivo is boasting that the phone is designed with a cushioning structure that is SGS Certified and is Military-grade shock resistant. It was able to survive 32,000 drop tests, extreme temperatures of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius and more. It is also IP64 dust and water resistance rated.

Inside the phone is the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core processor, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB eMMC 5.1 storage, microSD card storage expansion, and a 5,500mAh battery with 15W charging.

In front is the 6.74-inch LCD screen with a 1,600 x 720 resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate and 570 nits brightness. 

At the back are the 50MP f/1.8 main camera and 0.08MP f/3.0 secondary camera while in front is the 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi, USB-C 2.0, NFC, FM radio, OTG, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS.

As of this article's writing, there is yet to be any information on availability and pricing internationally and in the Philippines.
