HUAWEI GT 6 Series set for October 2 PH launch, pre-order details announced

HUAWEI has introduced the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Series to the Philippine market, with a launch date set for October 2. The announcement follows the company's reported position as a leading global vendor in the wrist-worn device segment.

Design and Aesthetics

The design of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Series is presented as a blend of a premium timepiece and a performance smartwatch. The higher-end Pro model is constructed with an aerospace-grade titanium alloy case, sapphire glass, and a nanocrystal ceramic back. A raised timing bezel is a new design feature on the Pro model.

The design

The standard HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 maintains a classic round silhouette in a more lightweight frame. It is being offered in multiple colorways: Black, Gray, and Green for the 46mm model, and Purple, White, and Gold for the 41mm model. Both models feature interchangeable straps in materials like composite woven, fluoroelastomer, and titanium, designed for use in various settings from professional to athletic.

Long-lasting battery

The series features a 3000-nit ultra-bright AMOLED display for visibility in direct sunlight. Both models carry a 5ATM water resistance rating for swimming, with the Pro model also supporting freediving up to 40 meters, compliant with the EN13319 standard. A note from the company clarifies that water resistance is not permanent and may decrease over time, recommending regular inspection at authorized service centers.

Performance and Health Features

Battery life is a highlighted feature, with the company stating the 46mm Pro model can last up to 21 days on a single charge, while the 41mm standard model is rated for up to 14 days, attributing this to a high-silicon stacked battery architecture.

In terms of sports tracking, the watch incorporates an enhanced Sunflower Positioning System 2.0, which uses a dual-band, six-satellite GNSS module. 

Cycling mode

HUAWEI states this system provides 20 percent more accurate positioning than the previous generation. For cyclists, the series includes a Virtual Power Metric and Functional Threshold Power (FTP) tool, which estimates power output without external sensors. Golf tracking with over 17,000 course maps is also supported.

Health monitoring is handled by the TruSense System 2.0. The Pro model exclusively includes CE-certified arrhythmia detection and ECG analysis. The entire series supports advanced sleep tracking to detect risks of apnea and a two-dimensional emotion detection feature that visualizes stress levels using textured flower icons.

The devices run on HarmonyOS 6.0 and offer features including Bluetooth calling, smart notifications, and support for GCash Watch Pay. They are compatible with HUAWEI, Android, and iOS smartphones.
