Confirmed: The next HONOR X9c smartphone is coming to the Philippines
This will be the 4th HONOR X9 Series smartphone, following the HONOR X9a in 2023, HONOR X9b in 2024, and HONOR X9c in 2025. All of those smartphones became hit after hit, thanks to their durability-focused features paired with relatively strong specs at an affordable price point.
HONOR's viral marketing campaign also worked on each model, making the X9 Series one of the most talked-about smartphones in the country.
When we launched HONOR X9a 5G, we literally had zero expectations. What we had was hope and confidence in our capabilities, and then it exceeded all expectations. We did not let the success get into our heads; we just thought it was beginner’s luck. So, we leveled up with HONOR X9b 5G, and again it became a massive hit. Then HONOR X9c 5G came and it was our biggest feat yet, outdoing everything we've done in 2023 and 2024, said HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng.
The HONOR X9 series has long been celebrated for its remarkable durability, consistently setting new standards year after year. From initial 5‑foot drop tests to rigorous 50‑foot trials, the journey has been relentless. This year, the HONOR X9c took durability to unprecedented heights—literally—surviving a drop from a helicopter hundreds of feet above ground, reaffirming its unrivaled toughness.
One can only think about how we can even top the past three generations of HONOR X9 series. We must admit, it has become a challenge at this point, but with the technology and talent we have at HONOR, it is indeed a good challenge. I'm very excited for everyone to witness what we have been planning for the past few months, Cheng continued.
To recap, 264 participants dropped their HONOR X9c 5G simultaneously, earning HONOR a coveted spot in the Guinness World Records for "The Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously."
We will learn more about it soon.
