HUAWEI nova 15 launched: Kirin 8020, 50MP main camera, 50MP selfie camera

Apart from the Ultra model, HUAWEI has officially launched the nova 15 in China.

Affordable selfie king?

The device is a regular variant among the series with an emphasis on imaging capabilities, battery performance, and AI features integrated within its HarmonyOS platform.

In terms of design and color options, the nova 15 is available in Vibrant Green, Elegant Purple, Zero White, and Phantom Black. 

For durability, the device uses aluminum silicate glass protection and carries an SGS five-star certification for drop and impact resistance. Additionally, it has an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.

In front, the phone features a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with FHD+ resolution of 2412 x 1084, 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It is capable of displaying 10.7 billion colors with P3 wide color gamut coverage. 

The HUAWEI Nova 15 is powered by the Kirin 8020 processor and is being offered in 256GB and 512GB storage configurations.

The device is equipped with a 6,000mAh silicon anode battery and supports 100W Huawei SuperCharge Turbo fast charging.

For photography, the rear camera system, branded as the Red Maple imaging system, comprises a triple-camera array. 

This includes a 50MP f/1.9 main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor + 12MP RYYB 3x telephoto portrait lens and OIS + 1.5MP multispectral color sensor. The system supports up to 30x digital zoom and 4K video recording. 

The front-facing camera is a 50MP sensor with a 90-degree wide-angle lens, a 1/2.5-inch sensor, and supports 4K video recording with AIS stabilization.

Other features include intelligent sensing controls that enable AI air gestures, AI air transfer, and AI smart payment.

For connectivity, it uses WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, Beidou, Galileo, NavIC, and dual SIM.

It also supports HarmonyOS smart communication technologies, including Beidou satellite image messaging and 2.4GHz StarLink off-grid connectivity.

Finally, it runs on  HarmonyOS 6.0 out of the box.

The phone is now available in China. No word yet for PH release. We will let you know once HUAWEI decides to bring the nova 15 Series to the country.
